Before the planning of manuscript purchasing by Rsks we had 12602 manuscripts.
Also we have taken 130 sharda lipi manuscripts from Kashmir microfilmed
We also have catalogue of manuscripts in 12 volumes in Accession-wise, Subject-wise, Title-wise, Author-wise.
We have manuscripts from the subjects mentioned below –
Vedic literature, Upanishad, Pauaniika texts, works on grammar, Nirukta, Philosophy, Music, drama, Stotra, Puja, Tantra, Medicins, Dharmashastra, Jyotisha, Astronomy, Prayoga, Chanda, Alanara, Kavya/Nataka, Niti, Subhasita, Itihasa
Scripts of manuscripts : Devanagari, Maithili, Bengali, Oriya, Telugu, Granth and Sharada.
Base of manuscripts : Paper, Palm leaf and Sanchipatra
Time of Manuscripts : The Date of Manuscripts preserved in MS. Library date back to atleast 15th Century A.D.
Oldest Manuscript In the library : Vaidyamrita by Moreshwar (a work on Ayurveda) belonging to 1546 A.D.
